Getting Started

ResourcesTrees adds resource-producing trees to Minecraft. Each tree is a combination of a Resource Type (what it drops) and a Tree Type (what shape it grows as), giving you a large variety of saplings to collect and use.

How It Works

  1. Find or craft a resource sapling — e.g. an Iron Oak Sapling or a Diamond Birch Sapling.
  2. Plant it like any normal sapling. It will grow into a full tree using the corresponding vanilla tree shape (oak, spruce, birch, etc.).
  3. Break the leaves to collect Leaf Fragments and occasionally another sapling.
  4. Use the Tree Simulator to automate resource production without needing to plant trees in the world.

Obtaining Saplings

Resource saplings are crafted by surrounding the original vanilla sapling with the corresponding resource material in a + pattern:

 M
MSM
 M
  • M = the resource material (e.g. Iron Block for iron trees)
  • S = the vanilla sapling (e.g. Oak Sapling for oak-shaped trees)

The crafting recipe is generated automatically for every combination.

Leaf Fragments

When you break or decay the leaves of a resource tree, they drop Leaf Fragments — small pieces of the resource material. These can be crafted back into the original resource item using shaped recipes.

See Leaf Fragments for the full crafting recipe list.

Tree Simulator

The Tree Simulator block automates resource production. Place a resource sapling inside it (along with an axe to speed it up) and it will periodically produce resource outputs without growing a tree in the world.

See Tree Simulator for full details.
